Thanks for the clear response.

To close the loop, I tried to find a workaround by separating the application code from the OS code in Flash. I made progress, but like all the attempts before me, ultimately hit a brick wall. I posted my findings here for posterity.

Looks like we're up for a board revision to add Flash.

No, this won't be possible I'm afraid. As you will need enough storage to fit the full image somewhere in your flash for OTA. What is supported is to do the DFU serially that will support overwriting the existing image directly, but I'm guessing that's not a valid option for you either.

Either way, your conclusion/recap of this is correct.
