nRF Connect and VSCode only detects nordic dev kits that have nRF53 or nRF52 on board running JLINK for JTAG/SWD programming.

It will not detect other kits like Thing Plus since they use different configuration to program their devices over uart and mcuboot

You will have to use CLI to program those boards. However, you can still compile your applications using nRF Connect pluging and then open a terminal and program firmware over UART using newtmgr or mcumgr .

Hi, I'm one of Drake's colleagues also having difficulties with this device. We've been able to get the device manager and other IDEs to detect the COM port to the device, but the VSCode extension still seems to not be able to find it on either of our computers. I am using an HP Omen 15t with an AMD Ryzen 7 4800H, and have tried multiple different cables as well. Is there a way to properly configure the Util Provider to properly search for the COM ports?

No, I'm using a "feather" board from SparkFun. Here is the link. www.sparkfun.com/.../17354

I'm currently using a Lenovo Legion with an Intel i7 and the device doesn't show that it's connected in the Quick Start from nRF Connect and VSCode.
