Thanks for the link, but uses this this really the new Zephyr MCUmgr client library which is described here (last entry of the table)? https://docs.zephyrproject.org/latest/services/device_mgmt/mcumgr.html

I don't want to use anything outdated if there is a newly library which from my point of view does exactly what I need.

See Bluetooth: Central SMP Client sample, but it only supports nRF devices.
