deleted "/Applications/Nordic\ Semiconductor" and reinstalled nRF Connect Command Line Tools version 10.24.0 and everything started working.

I have the exact same issue Intel Mac with Sonoma 14.5. when using nRF Connect Command Line Tools version 10.24.1 or 10.24.2.

I had to revert to version 10.24.0 to not have the error.

Maybe this is due to the fact that not everybody is admin on his machine or some tools like Jamf are interfering.

Thanks for the update! Great to hear you find the cause.

I just wonder, can you try to install the nRF Connect Command Line Tools version 10.24.2 again to see if this issue repeatable.

Just in case there is something different with your first try. I will try to find an Intel Mac to do test.

Looks like there's something wrong with the nRF Connect Command Line Tools version 10.24.2 or how it works with Intel Macs and/or Sonoma 14.4.
I uninstalled it (deleted "/Applications/Nordic\ Semiconductor") and installed the version 10.23.5. And I no longer see the same issues.

Hope they fix it in the next build.

/usr/local/bin/nrfjprog

~ % ls -la /usr/local/bin/nrfjprog 
lrwxr-xr-x  1 root  admin  47 Apr 20 17:26 /usr/local/bin/nrfjprog -> /Applications/Nordic Semiconductor/bin/nrfjprog

I'm not sure how to clean uninstall the command line tool, when you run the installer it basically upgrades the older version I believe.

Could you check the /usr/local/bin folder?
What will happen if you uninstall the new command line tool?Can you still able to use old version?

I'm having the same issue on Sonoma 14.4.1 (Macbook Pro on Intel). Also tried via nRF Connect Terminal -

% nrfjprog --version
[error] [    nRF] - Exception encountered while attempting to initialize multiprocess client: Operation not permitted
ERROR: An internal error has occurred, please try again.
NOTE: For additional output, try running again with logging enabled (--log).
NOTE: Any generated log error messages will be displayed.

Hi Ashish,

I did a quick try on my M1 MacBook Air and it works fine. According to the error reminder, I suspect the new version command line tool has been installed to other folders than the default /usr/local/bin.

Could you have a check under the nRF Connect terminal?
