Have you checked if there are some other kconfig files that set the CONFIG_AWS_IOT_CLIENT_ID_STATIC, and overriding it?

Also when I try to change the "CONFIG_AWS_IOT_CLIENT_ID_STATIC to "pagps-dev-01" before building, it switches back to "my-thing"

Hi,

Ive done a pristine build, and this is the .config file settings for AWS

This is the current output

I am not sure why in the .config the CONFIG_AWS_IOT_CLIENT_ID_STATIC="my-thing", I ran all the setup instructions using the IOT Thing name as "pagps-dev-01". The above output is using "my-thing" which I do not have as a device in AWS.

Please let me know.

You haven't mentioned anything about whether CONFIG_AWS_IOT=y has been set properly. Did you check that?

Hi, I have done a prestine build and have attached the .config file.

I am not sure if I need to make any previous config changes since I did a pristine build.

I do see

# CONFIG_CLOUD_CODEC_NRF_CLOUD is not set
CONFIG_CLOUD_CODEC_AWS_IOT=y
# CONFIG_CLOUD_CODEC_AZURE_IOT_HUB is not set
# CONFIG_CLOUD_CODEC_LWM2M is not set

I am still getting the following errors

I dont think I missed a configuration step (using website, and I attached my config steps in a document above)

What do you think ?

I can see

# CONFIG_AWS_IOT is not set

in .config. So AWS_IOT has not been set properly. Can you try deleting the build folder and pristine build?

Here is the build_1/zephy/.config

I did not specificy add anything in the .config to enable the nrf_cloud, and I also remember doing a configuration step to enable AWS_IOT.

Can you post the .config file located in build/zephyr? Check if it's enabled in the build.

Here are the logs that I have from onomodo:

I do see below in the traffic monitor , its trying to communicate with mqtt.nrfcloud.com, not sure why.

Hello,

the network is also giving the error ESM 50, which is probably the reason why you are not able to connect. Can you capture a modem trace from this?
