&lt;p&gt;You can look into &lt;a href="http://openocd.org/"&gt;OpenOCD&lt;/a&gt; to flash the nRF51 with a STlink v2 debugger, while I haven&amp;#39;t tried this myself, &lt;a href="https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/question/37164/programming-nrf51822-with-openocd-and-stlink-v2-issues/"&gt;several users&lt;/a&gt; have reported that this will work to flash the SoftDevice.&lt;/p&gt;
