Is there an example of distance measurement using BLE channel sounding within the SDK ?

RE: BLE channel sounding

Note: this is a Nordic Proprietary solution. The Channel Sounding specification is still not ratified by the Bluetooth SIG so we do not support that.

Note that for Channel Sounding the specification does not include the part that actually calculates the distance, it ends with the data needed to perform the calculations is presented to the application. The NDT code refered to above does contain the algorithms so the output is the actual distance.

RE: BLE channel sounding

Hi!

Amanda is out of office, so I'm replying instead.

You can find an overview over the different methods our DM subsystem uses here:

Thank you for your reply.

Does the example mentioned by you use channel sounding ble feature ? This is explained here:

There is an example of distance measurement using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) within the Nordic Connect SDK (NCS). The nRF Distance Measurement with Bluetooth LE discovery demonstrates the functionality of the Distance Measurement (DM) subsystem. It shows how to use DM to measure the distance between devices.

Regards,
Amanda H.
