I followed the steps. I am not encountering the error. I tested with 2 to 3 projects. I could declare that the quoted link solved the error on my side.

Even I wanted to raise the same ticket. I have had the same issue since Wednesday. I have been using vs code for nRF connect SDK for a year. It was working till Wednesday morning.

Sigurd Hellesvik , Will try the uninstalling process whatever you mentioned once again. Let us hope for a solution.

We have some different installation methods. So it would help if you let me know how you installed the tools.

This is surprising indeed. That usually fixes stuff. However, it narrows down the possible error causes.

Do you have any .vscode folders around? Try to "Open folder" in VS Code to a new folder. This will create a new VS Code workspace, so if you had any bad settings in the old workspace, this may fix that.
When reinstalling VS Code, some times, files containing settings for VS Code are not deleted. See https://stackoverflow.com/questions/47689536/how-to-completely-uninstall-vs-code-on-windows

I installed it initially and used it well for about three months. However, an error suddenly started occurring yesterday.

How did you install the extension and toolchain?

I recommend that you follow our install guide over at https://academy.nordicsemi.com/courses/nrf-connect-sdk-fundamentals/ if you had any issues. Then you can check that you remembered all steps
