DECT NR+ is a 5G technology, but it is not LTE.

It is a desentralized protocol, meaning that you need to provide such features as time to your network.

If you plan to use LTE with nRF9161, you can use examples such as "location":

As "nrf9161dk" is listed as a supported board.

I'm using the modem of the device (nRD9161) to work with DECT NR+. Can I still establish a network connection in order to use the date_time library provided?

Hi,

To get time, you need to get this from somewhere, for instance by NTP protocol or from a LTE base station or similar.

date_time library provides time from such sources:
