There is a KConfig value to set the default, but in our case it is different for different hardware that the same firmware runs on. So we cannot use that

RE: How to set the default BLE TX power at runtime?

awesome, thank you

RE: How to set the default BLE TX power at runtime?

You may find some useful tx power code at the top of https://github.com/denisbohm/firefly-zephyr/blob/main/subsys/ble/src/fd_ble.c

RE: How to set the default BLE TX power at runtime?

If you are still around, is there any chance you can list those API commands you are using?

RE: How to set the default BLE TX power at runtime?

Hello,

Apologies, I see now that I missed that part, please disregard my previous comment and instead see this one:

A connection will inherit the TX power level configured for the advertising, so you can just configure your peripheral's TX power for the advertisement, and then it will keep this same level for any connections established from this advertisement.

Best regards,
Karl

RE: How to set the default BLE TX power at runtime?

Not sure you read my original post?

Setting it dynamically after a connection is established means the power was not at the right level for connection establishment.

We need to be able to set the default output power via code. The same firmware runs on different devices - which need different default power settings.

RE: How to set the default BLE TX power at runtime?

Hello,

You can use the CONFIG_BT_CTLR_TX_PWR_ANTENNA kconfig to configure the default output power of your radio.
You can then use the same functions you are referencing in the original post to change this further for individual connections or roles, if necessary.

Best regards,
Karl
