Yes, this did work thank you! I'm just guessing that these instructions are a bit older so things have chnaged with the UI for the programmer app.

I think that if you try to download modem FW from here: https://www.nordicsemi.com/Products/nRF9160/Download?lang=en#infotabs and upload that like an app, the nRF Desktop Programmer should be able to understand that this is modem firmware and handle it accordingly.

Try that and let me know how it goes.

Hi Sigurd!

I was able to update the nRF52840 SoC application. When I select device and then select the Thingy, enable MCUBoot is fully selected without me having to do anything which solves my initial problem.

Now, when I try to update the modem firmware on the nRF9160 SiP and I follow the instructions on the guide, there is no cellular modem section on the left hand side menu nor an option to update modem. Is there something I'm missing in the process?

Try to click Select Device and select the Thingy. Does this work?
