Yes, this is correct. The nRF Connect SDK is based on the Zephyr OS, using this as the base layer. See our introduction in nRF Connect SDK documentation

The samples that we make (found under samples of the Nordic repository nrf) are designed to work with our wireless devices, but certain components are not fully supported due to size constraints in e.g. flash. Many of the samples found in the Zephyr repository will work with our products, but they are designed to use mostly Zephyr drivers and libraries.

Yes but zephyr and Nordic go hand in hand with NCS so it's kind of related. Thanks for sharing the email though i have reached out to the contributor.

Is the AWS IoT MQTT sample what you are using and receiving the error from? This is a Zephyr sample, which does not look to be developed by us. If you are basing your application on this sample, you will need to reach out to the Zephyr contributor Lucas Dietrich <ld.adecy@gmail.com>

I have already seen this ticket it doesnt help me resolve the bug atm. Please consider adding support for wiznet w5500 in nordic's ecosystem.

Also, you can see what causes the disconnect through the AWS IoT Lifecycle events on the server side.

I have tweaked this particular example and it builds fine for Nordic Connect SDK 4.2.

However on zephyr's github there is mentioned that we can use ethernet for this example.

Hello,

I'm not familiar with the W5500 ethernet adapter and have not tried this with our AWS_IOT sample. According to our documentation the w5500 is not officially supported in the sample.

Will need to discuss internally and get back to within tomorrow.
