I'm unsure how the Android phone supports that USB communication port as the PC. As I said, you have to handle it by yourself. You should test with a PC and then move to the Android phone.

Okay, if I connect the nrf52840 dongle to the phone via USB OTG, can the dongle communicate to the phone (an android app will be running) via USB CDC ACM example firmware ?

Hi,

It might need something like USB On-The-Go to connect the Android phone and nRF52840 dongle. You might need this sample to receive commands on the nRF52840 dongle. As for the Android side, you have to handle it by yourself.
