Hi Jason,

If you eventually use the Partition Manager in your project (which happens automatically when you start to use a bootloader/add DFU), then there are some setups required in the Partition Manager configuration file. This is detailed in https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/ncs-2.6.1/page/nrf/scripts/partition_manager/partition_manager.html.

That is true up to NCS 2.6.x. NCS 2.7.0 will use sysbuild instead of Partition Manager and things might be different. 2.7.0 is in RC3 at the moment, and I haven't started with it yet, so I will stop commenting further.

We don't have anything officially recommended, and I can't find any driver with a quick search. I found this: https://github.com/bluscape/LittleFS-Explorer-for-Windows. However, note that we are not affiliated with that, and does not comment about its useability or reliability.

If you want Windows to support your mass storage natively, how about using FatFS instead?

Thanks for your reply. It is a surprise that Windows does not support the LittleFS by default. I didn't find any official driver for Windows. Do you have a recommended LittleFS driver or explorer? I assume there is some driver, after installing such a driver, Windows can recognize the mass storage with LittleFS just like a normal disk, there is no need to open any special explorer/software. otherwise, the mass storage with LittleFS makes no sense for our product.

Hi Jason,

Could this be just Windows 10 not able to read a LittleFS partition, and tries to format it in some different way, and then the device application formats the partition as LittleFS again?

One thing to check is look for what file system the partition is in after Windows 10 formats it.

I recommend finding a LittleFS driver or explorer.
