&lt;p&gt;How are you measuring the current? Do you have a plot of the current that you could share?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The app timer will wakeup the device each 1500 seconds from sleep. Also, are you running the device in debug mode or with a debugger attached to the device? This will prevent the device from going into sleep mode,&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Yes the function enters power_manage(), very rapidly infact, in almost delays of milliseconds.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;The current reading is constant all the time, and has value same as when running without the power_manage() function.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;That looks ok, have you verified that the program enters the power_manage() function and measured the current consumption to see if it drops?&lt;/p&gt;
