The thing is that it does look like the problem has something to do with the W5500 itself but instead sounds like a higher level issue.

Thank you for pointing out the life cycle events page but I dot not see any MQTT event message. The disconnection happens during the HTTPS download and no MQTT is received then. I can't get any reason from AWS of why it closed the connection.

Hello,

As mentioned by my colleague Håkon, the download client is developed and tested with the IP-capable nRF devices in mind, so it highly likely needs to be adjusted/configured differently for your chosen ethernet bridge.

Have you been in contact with the Zephyr community on Discord? You are likely to get more information/support on the W5500 from the community.

Regarding AWS documentation, have look at the Life Cycle events on the server side to see dicsonnect reason?
