I'm glad to hear that it is working for you. The build configuration for the nRF52DK depends on which chip you are testing. Please refer to the screenshot below. It should work with all three build targets shown in the screenshot.

In the end I found the problem, was the selected board, for the nrf52 DK it should be selected as this image

Hi this behaviour is common when one shifts to zephyr rtos nordic SDK in vscode

please put this DCDC enable in your prj.conf file

CONFIG_BOARD_ENABLE_DCDC=n

also disable or comment following configs if you have them on your deconfig file

# CONFIG_USE_SEGGER_RTT=y

# CONFIG_LOG_BACKEND_RTT=y

Also if your LED is dim in your custom board I feel you are not powering your custom board from separate power source , which is necessary ,

Hello,

Has your issue been resolved? Which hex file are you attempting to flash? Based on the screenshot, it appears your device has been successfully flashed and memory read.

If you are attempting to flash the device using the programmer, you can try using the zephyr.hex file generated inside the build/zephyr folder(from the blinky_sample). Please let me know if this resolves the issue.

Actually I found I can upload the .hex file generated in the build by VS code using the nfr connect programmer, but this file looks empty

why would my files .hex be empty?

Dear Abhijith,

The program is not being flashed to the board from VS code but I can use nrf programmer to load example .hex file and the board will start blinking correctly.

I cannot upload my custom program with VS code.

Can I generate .hex file from VS code?

Hello,

From the screenshot you shared, I see that your board has been flashed successfully. However, in the programmer app, you haven't selected the board from the "Select Device" tab.

Please refer to the screenshot below from my side:

You need to select the device from "SELECT DEVICE" tab.

The code is uploaded successfully

Finally I can use the programmer and I can see the memory is empty

Could you please tell me which Nordic chip or development kit you are working with? Can you share the complete logs here?
