Whether your WiFi access point is supporting IPv6 is not controlled by the Dot 4. It is controlled by the access point, which I've stated multiple times.

Please verify that your access point is compatible with IPv6 through the access points settings.

But if I can connect to Amazon dot 4 with nRF7002-DK, then I should be able to connect with nRF52840. As far as I understand, it doesn't matter over thread or matter over wifi if it supports IPV6.

For Matter devices IPv6 is mandatory as devices SHALL expect IPv6 addresses according to the Matter specification.

AFAIK the Dot 4 supports Wifi does it not? Any IPV6 based communication i.e Wifi 6 or OpenThread with IPv6 works.

Could you check if the Dot 4 you're using is configured to not using IPv6? Does the WiFi AP that the Dot and nRF is connected to support WiFi 6?

nRF7002 does the commissioning via bluetooth and connects to the matter over wifi.

When I look at nRF52840, it connects to matter over thread.

Could this be the reason why Amazon dot 4 does not connect?

Are you asking about running Matter over wifi, or commissioning (which is the issue you're struggling with) over wifi?

You'll have to look into if the Amazon dot 4 supports wifi 6 or not. If it does, then yes, you can use Matter over Wifi with this hub. If not it has to be Matter over Thread.

All commissioning happens over BLE (mandatory by the specification), which is also described in https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/ncs-2.6.1/page/nrf/samples/matter/light_bulb/README.html#bind_both_devices. Are you certain that BLE advertising has started?

That depends on what build configuration you choose, but yes the default configuration for 7002DK is Matter over Wifi, but the commissioning step goes over BLE.

Yes, I know these. I did this with nrf7002 dk and it was successful. I was not successful when I did the same code nrf52840. In Amazon's dot 4 version, I wonder if it activates with wifi, not bluetooth?

This will depend on if your app is meeting the requirements to connect to Amazons ecosystem.
