I've been distracted with other projects the past couple days, but when I turned the device on today the modem reset was no longer an issue. I tried re-flashing a few times and everything seems to be working correctly. Not sure what the problem was.

Can you elaborate on this?

Does reset loop occur on nrf9161-dk v1.0.0 in the same way as with asset tracker v2 when you use Serial LTE Modem or Modem Shell instead (in the Quick Start guide from nRF Connect for Desktop)?

In the Quick Start guide one of the steps was to program your chosen application to the board. Which application did you program in one of the steps in the Quick Start Guide and which in the mentioned step 4 from VS Code?

Did you do your testing on nrf9161-dk? Are 0.9.1 and 1.0.0 which you mentioned previously versions of the nrf9161-dk?

1) Yes, the AT Command quick start.

Is "AT command quickstart" part of the Quick Start procedure available from nRF Connect for Desktop?

How did you perform "Erase and Flash" and from where?

I still entered the reset loop on boot. It seems to go away after less than 30 mins though.

Everything works fine on my nRF9161 (0.9.1) but it doesn't work on the nRF9161(1.0.0). I tried doing the programmer when I didn't start in the reset loop and it still didn't work. I'm not really sure where to go from here.

You could try performing exactly the same steps on both boards to verify the behavior.

Hi,

When reset loop restriction is triggered, the restriction is written to NVM and waiting time cannot be bypassed. You would need to wait 30 minutes. Regarding your error, after timer expires, you could try to use west flash command with --recover. If you use nrfjprog for programming, you could try to add --verify.

Also the loop doesn't trigger when I run the same application on another nRF9161. (Different revisions)

Thanks for the response. Yes, I am in VS Code. However, when I attempt to flash without erasing I get the following error:

I also tried using the programmer to erase (after disabling auto reset) and then flash without erasing but that still leaves in in the reset loop. When I started working when I was stuck in the reset loop, do I need to wait the 30 mins and then retry the programmer with auto reset deselected?

Hi,

Do you use VS Code? Is there a difference if you do not use "Erase and Flash" in VS Code but use "Flash" instead?
With regard to Programmer application, you could try to deselect "Auto reset".
