I am trying to developing an application that allows me to send data via UART ("not using the ble " )from nordic nRF5340 board and read that data with in the Customer board .
i tried the echo bot application , here

RE: How to communicate via UART from nrf5340 to an external customer board ?

yeah ! now it is working .
Using UART like in the Echo bot sample and communicating with another device is done in the same way. Just that in stead of shorting the Rx and Tx pins you connect the Rx and Tx pins to the custom board. You can also refer to Lesson 5 – Serial communication (UART) from the nRF Connect SDK Fundamentals course.
