Hi, I have resorted to using toolchain manager and west on command line to get it extension working.
If this is the intended way to get vscode extension working, then https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/ncs-latest/page/nrf/installation/install_ncs.html should recommend using toolchain manager.

Please consider fixing this issue, so a user is able to setup vscode development environment without resorting to conflicting guide information.

Hi,

I am not sure why this happens, but this error was usually resolved if you opened VSCode via Toolchain Manager. Have you tried opening this way instead of directly opening VSCode?

I am having same problem since VScode 1.92. Reinstalling does not work either. I tried downgrading to 2023.11.3 also did not work. Currently I have no way of using the nRF Connect for VS Code Extension Pack. The welcome tab shows for a second and then disappears after this error. I have to resort to using command line for building applications for now.

A quick solution would be to uninstall the plugin from VSCODE, restart and install it again.

This shud fix it. Also are you running production or pre-release version of the plugin?

Thank you. So when you open via the Toolchain Manager, do you get the same issue?

Could you share your SDK version, Toolchain Manager version as well as nRF Connect for Desktop version?

Does this open when you directly open VSCode or when you open this through the Toolchain Manager?
