Hello Jin,

If you need to keep track of time while in a low-power state, you will need to use System ON mode with the RTC running. In this state, the current consumption is typically around 1.6 µA with the RTC running on the low-frequency external oscillator (LFXO).

Hi Kazi, do you have the power consumption number for using RTC? My application requires as less consumption as possible; lower accuracy is not a concern; is RTC our best bet? Thanks.

Hello,

Current consumption of Timer depends on the clock frequency. Adding timer in the application creates more current consumption. You can see this from product specification Current consumption (nordicsemi.com).

If timer is always running, it will consume hundreds micro amperes.
