&lt;p&gt;The Noridc Edition of SEGGER Embedded Studio should not be used anymore. It was used as an IDE for early versions of the &lt;a href="https://www.nordicsemi.com/Products/Development-software/nRF-Connect-SDK"&gt;nRF Connect SDK&lt;/a&gt;. If you are using the old &lt;a href="https://www.nordicsemi.com/Products/Development-software/nRF5-SDK"&gt;nRF5 SDK&lt;/a&gt;, you can use the normal SEGGER Embedded Studio (you should pick the version described in the release notes of the SDK version you are using). See details on obtaining the free lisence &lt;a href="https://wiki.segger.com/Get_a_License_for_Nordic_Semiconductor_Devices"&gt;here&lt;/a&gt;. If using the nRF Connect SDK, the only currently supported IDE is &lt;a href="https://www.nordicsemi.com/Products/Development-tools/nRF-Connect-for-VS-Code"&gt;nRF Connect for VS Code&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/p&gt;
