I was mainly referring to custom transfer methods. The SDK includes libraries to store firmware images received via other transfer methods. I'm not aware of any DFU methods that are natively supported in Windows.

Can you share me the reference link for other dfu images transfer methods other than this mcumgr.

Can we use window supported command line for the firmware update, since i am using on visual studio terminal to send commands.other than mcumger

This applies if you are using mcumgr to perform updates. You are free to use other DFU image transfer methods.

Is there any alternative for the updating new firmware using external terminal like extra putty.

Hello,

Please enable logging over RTT in the application to see if there are any runtime errors reported when you initiate DFU.

I am working bootloader development with second method i.e DFU from Uart via Applicataion, in that i'm following same steps given by nordic dev course but while updating new firmware using command it is not updating properly.

It will got paused and will be like that, for the i will share image of that, please reply for this as soom as possible.

Hi,

You can use the Retention System (https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/ncs-2.6.1/page/zephyr/services/retention/index.html) to enable buttonless entry into Serial recovery mode. However, you need to implement a mechanism on the DFU controller to check for new updates and initiate the DFU process.

Hi,

The firmware update via uart from the Bootloader using Physical button is able to work, next step I have to do the same thing but without using button.

I have to reserve space in Bootloader on Flash and whenever the new version or updates present that time it has to check for that update has to done via Uart only, please suggest any of reference for this.

I am using nRF52840 microcontroller and Visual studio code for the development.

Hi,

The nRF Connect VS code extension does not integrate support for DFU programming. This must be done with the mcumgr-client from a terminal (can be also be opened in VS code) or with one of the other mcumgr Clients listed here: https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/ncs-latest/page/zephyr/services/device_mgmt/mcumgr.html#toolslibraries

Hi,

I am referring to course that shared above in that, they have worked on Linux machine i.e. Ubuntu but I am working in windows so there while the communication between PC to Microcontroller not Happening, as that is having command line tool called Go but that is not supporting in the IDE that I am using Visual studio code.

So can I expect any reference to that,
