I never got the devices - by the time I was able to get the NOC, the demurrages were beyond reason...

I hope you were able to get the devices from the PTA. However, nRF9160 doesn't have GSM fallback support. LTE-M is not supported in Pakistan. As per GSMA coverage map, Telenor supports NB-IoT. However, I am not sure if anyone has ever been able to get any NB-IoT related service from Telenor in Pakistan. So, in short, were you able to register to the network using nRF9160 in Pakistan?

Hi Aadil,:

We sent a modification request to GSMA and to update the IMEI information in the two incorrect TACs. Here are the updated TACs:

devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../35151617_5F00_1625150542693-1.pdf and devzone.nordicsemi.com/.../35091606_5F00_1625150542954-2.pdf

Hope this resolves the issue with your Telecommunication Authority.

It might be possible to get the device if we can get a letter from Nordic stating the error and mentioning that this is being rectified with GSMA as well. Can that be done?

We're getting devices from OEM with nRF91XX. We just imported samples yet and they're stuck due to this issue. I am not sure if supplier will be able to provide devices with other TACs but I will check

I was checking if you have an alternate nrf9160 that can be used.

Would it be possible to check with your Telecommunication Authority to still use the device stating that it is a typo.?

Not all the nrf91xx have the same TAC.. It is the first 8 digits of the IMEI and these are the list for TAC that we have now: 35265610, 35135881, 35091606, 35151617, 35378572, 35844717, 35974616, 35045779, 35190193, 35759987, 35354473, 35103492, 35597725, 35097665 among which 35151617 and 35091606 are the ones with the error..

Yes, it is not possible to change the TAC.

Hi Aadil,

The nRF9160 only has one IMEI and only connect to one network at working time....Two IMEI's are usually applicable for devices that support dual SIM, but the nrf9160 does not.. So there is no other IMEI apart from the one you already have.. I will report this internally to see why 2 is filled in GSMA database registration..
