&lt;p&gt;There is no innate method for data validation in the &lt;a href="https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/sdk_nrf5_v17.1.0/page/lib_cli.html"&gt;CLI library in the nRF5 SDK &lt;/a&gt;AFAIK, but I will ask some of the old trotters internally if they&amp;#39;re aware of something. I&amp;#39;ll let you know if I hear back, but I wouldn&amp;#39;t hold my breath waiting for an update unfortunately.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;One thing could be to use the parity bit on the UART for validating the data, as something like CRC/checksums is not something we have in the nRF5 SDK.&lt;/p&gt;
