I am testing a simple BLE application running in two different boards: nRF5340-DK and Fanstel BC40M. First test without MCU Boot, second test with MCU Boot. Same firmware in both boards and measure the average power consumption:

It was also necessary to disable some peripherals in a overlay file for the MCU Boot to avoid high current (2mA) when FOTA was included.

RE: MCU Boot high current in a custom board

Update:

I solved the high power consumption when adding MCU Boot by disabling the qspi in the overlay file.

Just another related question,

Where should be the config and overlay files for the MCUBoot in ncs 2.5.0?

RE: MCU Boot high current in a custom board

Check out Power optimization recommendations doc.

RE: MCU Boot high current in a custom board

Hello Amanda,

That's a smart answer!😉

Let me put it another way.

Is there any configuration for the bootloader, example: disable uart (BLE update only), gpio initialization, etc. related to power comsumption during boot?
