You should be using the nRF51-DK for all development on the nRF51 (nRF51822 and nRF51422)

I had the same problem, where my nRF1422 evaluation kit was not shown in "nRFgo studio". My solution was to start "nRFgo studio" with administrator rights. Hope this helps someone else.

UPDATE: I found that even though the board doesn't show up in the Motherboard list and that the 8 segment display doesn't show a board ID, the blinky example programs and kinda works. The documentation says that it blinks LED0-LED7, but on my board, it just toggles between LED0 and LED1. At least it does something.

Could it be that you have used the wrong nRFgo Studio installer for your OS variant? There are separate installers for x86 and x86-64, and you will most likely see issues if you try to use the wrong one.

As for the latter error, it is the driver installation for the J-Link CDCs that is failing. I'd recommend you to install this from Segger directly instead: http://www.segger.com/jlink-software.html

I cannot find any unknown device or exclamation mark on my device manager... You can find the screenshot attached.

Edit: I also remember that during the installation of nRF51 SDK I had an error but I didn't remember exactly what error was. So, I reproduce it installing all the system to an other PC, and now I have a screenshot of that error! (second screenshot attached). How I can fix it?

I am looking to develop using your products, but I don`t have any experience with Nordic. Could you please point me in the right direction to integrate a nRF51822 into my designs?

Is this all what I need to buy to program a nRF51822? www.nordicsemi.com/.../nRF51822-Development-Kit

or do I really need the nRFgo Starter Kit as well?

Can you please check that all needed drivers have been installed, by looking for unknown devices or devices with exclamation marks in the device manager? If you find any, can you please try to update the drivers manually, and point the installer at C:\Program Files (x86)\Nordic Semiconductor\nRFgo Studio\usb_drivers\nrf6310 or one of the subfolders?

If this doesn't solve it, can you please upload a screenshot of your device manager?
