Did you write a 1 to bit 0 of CTRL_REG1 (0x2A)? default it is 0 and stays in standby.

No, not that I know. Have you verified that you have connected the sensor to the nRF51 DK correctly?

Do you have a logic analyzer or oscilloscope so that you could check if the I2C peripheral is communicating correctly with the MMA8452?

I am sorry, you are correct. Are you just getting 0x00 or are you reading an actual value? Are you able to provide a logic trace of the I2C pins?

as per data sheet when i read device id 0x0D i must get 0x2A. but i am not getting it.

no i set ADXL375_ADDR 0x1C. it is 7 bit slave address. DEVICE_ID 0x0D which is who am i id

In ADXL_375.h you have set the MMA8452 Device ID to 0x1C and not 0x2A as specified in the MMA8452Q Datasheet.
