Hi Paul,

I have an update from our development team for your request.

Thee BLE app has been completely on hold for a while, due to the architectural change of the app we will no longer support the old ble app. The old ble app is using pc–ble–driver– js which is already deprecated. We plan to design a new ble app which will use a new library called nrf-ble-lib, this feature will be considered for the new ble app.

Sorry for this news. This feature will not come in short time on BLE app.

Unfortunately, this is what it has now for general usage.

I see there is a feature request https://github.com/NordicSemiconductor/pc-nrfconnect-ble/issues/261.

Please give comments and I will ping developer to draw attention about this request.

Hi Charlie,

Bluetooth Low Energy could be usefull. Only NUS data is logged as hex. We prefer to get the output as readable string format.

Hi Paul,

We do not have something exactly same on PC.nRF Connect for Desktop -> Bluetooth Low Energy app can read out NUS anyway, do you think you can use this app directly?

Otherwise, you have to develop your ow app by referring to https://github.com/NordicSemiconductor/pc-nrfconnect-ble.

The above solutions need a Nordic BLE dongle plug in to your PC( see https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/nrf-connect-ble/page/index.html), if you want to use BLE hardware within your PC, you need to refer to https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/samples/microsoft/windows-universal-samples/bluetoothle/.

Hi Charlie,

thanks. Thing is we like to connect via bluetooth. nRF Connect only shows local COM ports.

Hi Paul,

You can have a try with nRF Connect for Desktop -> Serial Terminal APP, and it can show logs from nRF9160 on Thingy91.
