Yes. It works for me with the buildprog script and i am able to work with the sdk. Installing the SDK would mostly fail initially as it says in the vscode extension for me. But it ends up getting installed and if i reopen vscode, i am able to see the sdk everytime. So far, i havent had any major issues for programming the samples.

I also noticed in nrf5340-audio-build-instructions that building and programming in vscode in not supported yet for nrf5340-audio. So i am assuming that this will be resolved later on. But for now, i am using the above link to build and program the samples.

This is a known issue, and can sometimes happen.

Right now, I am building those using the buildprog script in tools. I managed to make the build configuration working, but it occasionally fails to write to the board and i have to factory reset the board using terminal.

How are you trying to build these?

Did you try other samples e.g. Bluetooth: Central UART to verify ?

Still could'nt get it working from VSCode. I would appreciate some help on this and also on using the build config inside vscode. I am trying to run the samples for nrf5340 Audio DK

From all the findings so far,

I suppose that the toolchain installation is not happening properly, since all the errors during installation end up with some 'cmake' error.

The second thing that i noticed is that i have another zephyr workspace in a virtual env as i mentioned in the previous message. Everything works fine when i build and program inside that virtual env. The only thing is that it is not integrated with the ide and i have to run everything on the terminal for now.

Another thing i wanted to mention is that i installed my west workspace in a virtual env earlier from the Zephyr documentation. I am able to build examples from the nordic sdk when i activate this virtual env and compile the examples inside it.

Hi,

Step 1: The cmake folder as mentioned in /opt/nordic/ncs/toolchains/f8037e9b83/cmake/NcsToolchainConfig.cmake consists of two files - NcsToolchainConfig.cmake and NcsToolchainConfigVersion.cmake

Step 2: The directory ~/.cmake exists and my user is a part of the group staff with read/write/execute access to the folder.

Our developers are helping looking into this, as they are not sure what is going on. They asked for the following steps, where number 3 does not work as you confirmed.

Check if the file /opt/nordic/ncs/toolchains/f8037e9b83/cmake/NcsToolchainConfig.cmake exists.
Check if the directory ~/.cmake exists and permissions are all fine for the user to read and write.
The toolchain is already configured in VS Code, can they build? Try to build and see what happens.

Error: "Failed with exit code 1. Execution of cmake for registration of NcsToolchainConfig.cmake failed with exit code != 0."? Yes, this exact error no matter what.

When i had it working the last time, I was able to go through the nrf samples and choose the 'nrf5340 Audio' examples to start from. But now i cannot see those in the Create new application.

What happens if you try to build a project i.e. create a new application. What error do you get?

The installation looks good from what I can see. But please provide

What error was this? Are you referring to:

Just to take the results again, i delected the ncs folder again and installed the toolchain and sdk ignoring the error that VScode showed.

Below is the information you asked for:

in /opt/nordic/ncs, these are the folders

downloads tmp toolchains v2.7.0

and inside v2.7.0/

bootloader modules nrf nrfxlib test tools zephyr

And yes, I tried clicking refresh button and restarting VSCode, but nothing changed.

Do I need to run any of these steps as a root user? probably not right?

What folder are in /opt/nordic/ncs/? If you do have the folder v2.7.0, what does this folder include?

After installing, did you try clicking the "refresh" button next to Manage SDKs in the VS Code extension, or restart VS Code?

in /opt/nordic/ncs/ please remove all folders and retry with VS Code. If this does not work, please provide output from running nRF Connect: Generate support information in VS Code.
