I have tried using the example just as it is but i keep getting errors when trying to build as can be seen in the image below.
It is possible to have your applications outside the NCS folder (or out-of-tree, as it is called). If you download and set up the SDK using nRF Connect for Desktop -> Toolchain Manager, there is an option to "generate environment script":

Store this file in a folder in your computer's environment path, and you can call it from anywhere using the command line.

You should also be able to store the application outside the NCS folder, as long as you have the SDK and toolchain set correctly in the VS Code extension.

This is usually preferred, so that you keep your SDK "pristine". Not required, though.

Best regards,

This worked and has resolved the issue, I also had to copy my folder to the ncs examples folder.

RE: HCI Tx power control

Oh, it looks like you are using the Zephyr SDK directly, and not NCS. Try downloading and installing NCS using nRF Connect for Desktop -> Toolchain Manager, and then open the root folder of NCS in VS Code, and see if that helps.

Thanks for the response. I'm using NCS 2.7.0 on this.

I am not able to copy the build log but you should be able to access it here.

The message about squiggly line is not something you need to worry about. It just says that it has some issues, which may be the case if it is not able to build.

The message regarding the missing header file, on the other hand, is probably the cause of the issue. It is a bit difficult to say exactly why it is not found. Can you please try to copy and upload the entire build log? Also, what NCS version are you using?

Best regards,
