I notice that some Andriod devices (Pixel 6A running Andriod 15 Beta and Samsung S22) are initiating paring twice during bonding. However, the issue goes away for the first usage after the device is flashed again. Not entirely sure what is going

RE: Andriod BLE double pairing after first use

Hi

I don't remember (and have not been able to dig up) the exact BLE events, and the fix we had was for the old SDK. There it was relate to the pm_handler_secure_on_connection() and _error() functions, and by removing one of them you could avoid the two pairing dialogs.

Best regards,

Out of curiosity, do you happen to know what the two BLE events are? I have also tried disabling MTU exchange and setting CONFIG_BT_GATT_CLIENT=n, which didn't really fix this issue.

RE: Andriod BLE double pairing after first use

Hi

Two pairing popup windows is indeed a bug we've seen before, and the reason seems to be because two BLE events are trigging pairing both upon connection and upon errors in the PM handler which triggers on some phones, and not on others. It seems to generally be caused by how the OS handles pairing requests, and we've not found a good way around this yet I'm afraid.

Best regards,
