I have a very strange problem and i can not found any solution.
I have NRF52833DK and NRF52840DK where mi code is working perfectly. Compiled with OTA is ok, compiled without ota is OK.
I have my custom device with NRF52833QDAAA Chip

RE: NRF52833 QDAA bootloader and OTA

Hello Vidar,

Now it works, I restarted the PC. Maybe VSCODE was stuck. The solution you provided saved me. THANK YOU SO MUCH

Hm, does you board have the optional DCDC inductors mounted? The DK board enables the DCDC regulator by default, but if the inductors are not present, the regulator will become unstable (can lead to issues with programming, etc). If so, Are you currently disabling DCDC in your app?

RE: NRF52833 QDAA bootloader and OTA

Hello Vidar,

Did you perform a clean/pristine build after adding the Kconfig fragment?
I confirm you that we are not using 32K Crystal.
I have already add in proj.conf and maybe is for that the application works.

I did what you wrote me, but still doesn't work.
Do you have other adviges?

No worries. If your board does not include the optional 32K crystal, you need to select the internal RC oscillator by enabling CONFIG_CLOCK_CONTROL_NRF_K32SRC_RC in both your app and the MCUboot image.

<project dir>/
├── child_image
│ └── mcuboot.conf # Kconfig fragment for mcuboot containing the CONFIG_CLOCK_CONTROL_NRF_K32SRC_RC=y line
├── CMakeLists.txt
├── prj.conf # Must also enable CONFIG_CLOCK_CONTROL_NRF_K32SRC_RC
├── README.rst
├── sample.yaml
└── src

RE: NRF52833 QDAA bootloader and OTA

Hello,

before of all sorry for the long delay and thanks for the link i found out al lot of documentation that i never see!
Thanks again.

Can you suggest me the correct "define" to remove to avoid this behavior?
Is this "CONFIG_CLOCK_CONTROL_NRF_K32SRC_RC=y"?

I need to set like this: CONFIG_CLOCK_CONTROL_NRF_K32SRC_RC=n

I have to put this one in .overlay file inside child_image?

Without 32khz is possibile make ota update?
Best regards

RE: NRF52833 QDAA bootloader and OTA

Hello,

Does your custom board include the optional 32KHz crystal? If not, please ensure that the 32K crystal oscillator is not being requested by the bootloader on startup. This will cause the bootloader to hang on startup waiting for the crystal to start.

You can change the project configurations for the mcuboot child-image as discussed in this post:

Serial Recovery never works with remapping using FT232, ncs2.4.0
