&lt;p&gt;Are you certain you&amp;#39;re sending anything?&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Please provide a minimal sample and I&amp;#39;ll have a look.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;In&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://devzone.nordicsemi.com/f/nordic-q-a/115479/issue-with-the-new-uart-configuration-in-zephyr-rtos-for-nrf52840dk"&gt;Issue with the new UART configuration in zephyr RTOS for nrf52840dk&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;I explained that you could use any other GPIO that were aviailable that had not any gray text beside it. I believe this might&amp;#39;ve mislead you in selecting P0.26 and P0.27. If you flip your DK you can see that these are set up for SCL and SDA. Please try with for instance P0.28, P0.29 or P0.30. These should not give you the error message you&amp;#39;re seeing.&lt;/p&gt;
