Then I urge you to check out the DevAcademy nRF Connect fundamentals, and in turn intermediate course to get a grasp of the nRF Connect SDK. After these you should have a better reference point to get started with developing on your own.

Thanks! It is a little difficult for me to fully grasp it with my current personal ability. I will gradually understand it in the future practice.

I think the adding your own code workflow section in the documentation should be helpful here. Additionally, if you're on NCS version v2.7.0 or later we've moved to Sysbuild, and here is the file suffix support available for Sysbuild.

You can also check out the DevAcademy and the nRF Connect fundamentals and intermediate courses for a better understanding of how NCS projects and the environment altogether is set up.
