Hi Julien,

I have discussed with the internal team and it looks like we have done some testing with the devices we have: iPhone XR on iOS 18, device with PHY info is not scanned. But with iPhone 13 Pro on iOS 17 and 16 Pro on 18 it is scanned, both PHY LE 1M and 2M

Aleksander,

I don't have a recent iPhone in my office but I can try it with a friend's iPhone.
My Android phone is old (Samsung S10 e) and I can see the LE coded PHY information.

I will be taking a look soon on a friend's iphone.

Hi,

Only few phones can scan on LE Coded, at least when both the primary and secondary PHY is set to Coded, which is the main point for long range.

Most new Android phones can scan for LE Coded as Secondary PHY when the Primary is LE 1M.

I don't think iPhones support LE Coded at all. I don't have the latest iPhone 15 (?) to test.

I checked on the client's phone and I can see the information clearly but only if I use my with 1M or 2M PHY. When I used LE coded PHY on my BLE device, the information doesn't appear

Hello, Mobile apps here.

iOS version of nRF Connect does show Primary and Secondary PHY on phones that support that (all "not-that-old"). Here's a screenshot from iPhone 13 with iOS 18.0.1 scanning for an Android phone advertising some sample data. They do show it only when the information is passed in the "advertisementData" map in scan results (there are several not documented keys that we observe, 2 of them are for the PHYs).

Hi Julien,

There are certain limitations in the iOS Bluetooth stack at present, which might be the reason that it does not allow access to the Primary and Secondary PHY information. Apple may choose to add support for these features in the future, but as of now, there are no indications of when or if this might happen.

I will nevertheless confirm this with the Mobile App team and get back to you.
