I think you can give all three hexfiles(bootloader, application and softdevice) as an argument to mergehex. You have to set the BANK_VALID_APP flag in bootloader settings if you want it to start in the application and not the bootloader, please see this post.

Now i have solved, the board works, i don't fully understand why, last question... for merging file: bootloader + softdevice = bootsoft.hex bottsoft.hex + application = boootsoftapplication Another file must be merged?

So changing the ROM/RAM settings did not solve the issue? Could you provide the settings you are using? Also which SDK and SoftDevice version are you using?

one more information: I have the same problem on the Dev Board 51422DK (that is 32KB RAM), so maybe is something different it is not because it is a CEAA variant!!!! Please help

Your nRF51822 is a CEAA variant, i.e. 256kB Flash and 16kB RAM. The PCA10028 examples are intended for the QFAC variant, which has 32kB RAM. I have explained which settings that needs to be changed in this post.

Did you flash the S110 Dual Bank Bootloader (examples/dfu/bootloader/pca10028/dual_bank_ble_s110) to the nRF51822 along with the S110 SoftDevice and the s110_with_dfu example (examples/ble_peripheral/ble_app_hrs/pca10028/s110_with_dfu)?

You need to flash the bootloader and an application that has been extended (add the DFU Service ) with DFU Support. The memory layout of a nRF51 flashed with a bootloader is shown on this Infocenter page.

This page on our Infocenter explains how to add DFU support to an application.
