I would suggest nrf_esb.c line 834

and then turn LNA back on again in start of function on_radio_disabled_rx_ack()

Unfortunately, there is no PA/LNA implementation available for nrf_esb.

nrf_esb is open source, so you can add pin clear/set functions, and use PPI/GPIOTE where needed. You may find this thread useful:
