Where did you add the board name again? I am not sure if I understand.

Did you follow the DevAcademy course on this?

I created a custom board named
dual_com_nrf52840
. To open it with the devicetree, I have to add the board name again. I recently upgraded to version 2.8.0.

RE: devicetree gui not showing in vs code

Ah I see. Then the issue is likely just related to this new board and not the environment.

I would recommend you to have a look at this tutorial on how to create custom boards.

So with the old hw naming scheme, a build target should have a [hardware board name]_[soc build target]. So the inclusion of the underscore and name of soc after your board name at the end there would make sense. Though as of NCS 2.7 we've started with the new "hardware model 2", in which things are a bit different (namely that the build targets use slashes instead of dashes when being referred to as a build target).

Regards,

So you are not having issues doing anything else. Are you able to build this sample for this new board without having a look at the device tree? Are you able to simply open this file in VSC, by dragging it from a File Explorer to the VSC window?

Could you provide me with support info about your environment?
