It seems like they fixed this issue on version v4.29.1
It works fine on s23u and s10+

I'm having the exact same issue on Android with nRF Connect app v4.29.0.

It works fine if I install v4.28.1 from the apk.

When will this issue be fixed and a new app released?

UPDATE:

I downgrade my nRF Connect app to v4.28.1 by apk on samung s10+
with the same operating procedure and binary file
everything work fine and update successfully

So maybe I will choose not to upgrade my app until the new version is released

I use the same binary file
To make sure that, i do it again with smp_svr on dk and regenerate binary file with only add some log printk for BLE OTA
and it still can't work

Today my s10+ update nRF Connect app to v4.29.0 by itself
and it can't work either...

Is there any previous version APK that i can download ?

Hi,

Do you use the same file app_update.bin to test with these phones? I suspect not.

I can reproduce the issue if uploading a different application without the same memory partitions.

I would suggest uploading the file build with the same pm_static.yml. You can duplicate build/partitions.yml, rename it to pm_static.yml, and place it under the application. Then regenerate the image with the pm_static.yml to upload.

I also borrowed a pixel 8 pro from my coworker
it also can't work
nRF Connect app v4.29.0 with Android 15

1. s23 ultra, v4.29.0, Android 14 (not working)

I judge success based on whether a window pops up after I choice a app_update.bin

I don't think so. I tested on Pixel 6A (Android 14) without issues.

I did the same experiment as you say

I build the sample zephyr/samples/subsys/mgmt/mcumgr/smp_svr. (NCS 2.7.0) on nrf52840-dk

it still can't work on nRF Connect app v4.29.0 with samsung s23 ultra (Android14)

so I take another phone which has nRF Connect app v4.28.1 on samsung s10+ (Android 12),

and it works !!!!!

so I think the problem maybe is APP on different Android version ?

I cannot reproduce it with the nRF Connect app v4.29.0 and zephyr/samples/subsys/mgmt/mcumgr/smp_svr.

Please ensure to upload the package with modification.
