This sample should work. Are you able to use this to update the modem from 1.3.6. to 1.3.7? You should be able to use mfw_nrf9160_update_from_1.3.6_to_1.3.7.bin

The application I am using is our own custom application, not one of the modem update samples. However it does use as its basis

I load the full modem upgrade file onto our LWM2M server, and use it to trigger a firmware download.

The download completes but the failure occurs before it tries to do anything with the modem, when it is trying to decode the CBOR header - see trace attached and above.

The same method works for MCUboot image upgrades AND partial modem upgrades, so it looks to me more like I am using the wrong file, or it is somehow not correct.

Are you able to provide more information on your application, i.e. are you running the modem update samples? E.g
nrf\samples\cellular\http_update\modem_delta_update or
nrf\samples\cellular\http_update\modem_full_update

Could you please provide a modem trace during the modem update?

I've tried with edrx and PSM disabled. bith together and idependently.

The result is always the same.

The failure seems to be when it tries to decode the CBOR wrapper

So either the file I'm using isn't correct, or there has been some corruption.

Is it possible to use mcumgr to do the modem upgrade with the same file?

Hello,

So the first error is 115, which means "network is down". Looks like the modem is disconnecting for some reason. I wonder if there's some timeout.

Could you try to turn off PSM and eDRX and test again?
