I want to add a small antenna to nrf52840 chip
Which part and how I can use it?
Is it any tutorial or reference?

RE: Nrf52840 small antenna

Did you have a look at the mentioned antennas?

Is this an example of a solution being too large? What is your requirement? What type of application is it? Do you have room for a connector + an off board antenna (for example made from flexible print)?

RE: Nrf52840 small antenna

they need large space

How small do you need the antenna to be? The smallest solution is probably a chip-antenna. We generallly do not provide recommendations, however, the prototyping platforms, Thingy:53, Thingy:91 X and Thingy:91 are all using small chip-antennas and will provide you with some examples. The BOM is available in the hardware files for example, Thingy:91 hardware files (there are two BOM-folders in the .zip files, look in PCA****->Production files->BOM).

Please see the nRF52840 Dongle for an example showing a small PCB-antenna. You may copy the antenna from the dongle hardware files, just keep in mind this antenna needs to be tuned for your specific custom PCB + casing. If you make the antenna a little bit longer than what you need you can tune it by cutting the PCB and shortening the trace.

PCB-antennas are said to provide more flexibility for tuning, however, chipantennas are widely used as well.

RE: Nrf52840 small antenna

Hi,
