Currently, it supports only the nRF54L. I am not able to answer questions about our timeline or roadmap, but if you want to know more about future support of Zigbee you can contact your local sales representative from Nordic Semiconductor.

Will R23 be available for the nRF52840 Dongle and nRF5340 DK? Or does it depend on features only available on the nRF54L Series?

Zigbee is only released as an add-on from nRF Connect SDK v2.8.0 and on.

The Zigbee add-on documentation includes a guide on how to set it up: Zigbee add-on — Requirements and setup. You can also find information in the SDK documentation under Creating application from add-ons. We do not currently have a guide for the entire process.
