Hmm ok, but I do not get it because I also tried the native_posix and got the same output. I tried to rename but still get the warnings:

/home/hd/ncs/v2.5.3/nrf/applications/asset_tracker_v2/tests/debug_module/prj.conf:7: warning: attempt to assign the value 'y' to the undefined symbol UNITY

/home/hd/ncs/v2.5.3/nrf/applications/asset_tracker_v2/tests/debug_module/prj.conf:14: warning: attempt to assign the value 'y' to the undefined symbol APP_EVENT_MANAGER

Does this example work and why is it complaining about unidentified symbol? I have not changed anything ran it straight out of the box.

Hi!

In NCS v2.5.3, there was only native_posix support. https://github.com/nrfconnect/sdk-nrf/blob/v2.5.3/applications/asset_tracker_v2/tests/debug_module/testcase.yaml , but as per this commit, it was not working properly and we switched to native_sim in NCS 2.6.0. https://github.com/nrfconnect/sdk-nrf/commit/13d4934ad453dddc8cb9af724a38e8f5732e2dc5

This means that you would have to e.g. change the name of the file native_posix.conf to native_sim.conf , for the file in the folder asset_tracker_v2/boards/ , if you want to build asset_tracker_v2 for native_sim
