Hi,

As Achim Kraus states, P6 is controlled by the nRF52840 on the Thingy:91. You can find this in connector pinouts in the Thingy:91 hardware documentation. To use these pins, you would need to make firmware for this, i.e. board target thingy91_nrf52840.

The Thingy:91 X has an expansion board connector, so with this, you could connect an expansion board for the external sensor.

AFAIK, P6 is not controlled by the nRF9160 of the Thingy:91, instead it's controlled by the nRF52840.

Using an overlay for the nRF9160 will therefore not help. You would need to develop code for the nRF52840, which is usually used for the "com bridge".

Let me recommend to switch to a Thingy:91X for your example.
