&lt;p&gt;From the logs it looks like you are using vanilla Zephyr, can you confirm? The nRF Connect SDK is based on the Zephyr OS, however, not&amp;nbsp;Zephyr version: 4.0.99 as it seems that you are using.&amp;nbsp;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;You can install latest tagged version of the nRF Connect SDK version using the nRF Connnect for VS Code extension in VS Code. Also, have a look at the&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://academy.nordicsemi.com/courses/nrf-connect-sdk-fundamentals/"&gt;nRF Connect SDK Fundamentals&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;which guides you through the installation process.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In regards to building a project, when you have installed the nRF Connect SDK, for e.g.&amp;nbsp;&lt;span&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;nrf21540dk/&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span&gt;nrf52840 you need to verify that the sample has support for the board&amp;nbsp;&amp;nbsp;nrf21540dk/nrf52840. Have a look at the bluetooth central UART sample: &lt;a href="https://docs.nordicsemi.com/bundle/ncs-latest/page/nrf/samples/bluetooth/central_uart/README.html"&gt;nrf\samples\bluetooth\central_uart\sample.yaml&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
