For fixing this, you could try to set CONFIG_BT_PRIVACY=n.

The problem is that I am not resetting or cycling power. The address in the application log is just plain wrong.

This is important because I need to know the transmitter name and its address in order to pass the Bluetooth test suites. I am relying on the application log to provide that information as I'm executing the test.

Hi,

Current default setting for broadcaster is that it uses random non-resolvable address, and that address changes randomly every time after device reset. This is the reason why the address observed in the sniffer is different from the one in the application log.

I use a number of packet sniffers, but primarily the nRF52840 dongle with Wireshark.

That section of the nrf5340_audio application has not been modified. I suspect the call to addr_print() happens before the local address is initialized.

What do you see for local address in the terminal and what do you see when you sniff for packets?

Can you provide more information about your setup?

Do you use unmodified nrf5340_audio application?
