It is brand new. I am able to turn it on, but it turns off after some inactivity. It always turns off when I click "Upload" on the nRF EdgeImpulse app. I tried to use USB and even if it compiles VS Code does not recognize it.

Are you initially able to turn on the Thingy?

Does it automatically turn off? When does it do this exactly? Is it after a specific time interval, or is it after you try flashing something onto it?

Have you tried changing the USB cables?
