After numerous attempts, it seems that deleting everything (including that snarkly .west directory) and reinstalling the SDK (while removing the more recent toolchain) helped. I successfully managed to build my project again. Not putting projects at the same root level, as dejans said, is mandatory. Thanks for the help!

Hi,

Do you have workspace application?

Have you tried to copy/move your application outside of Zephyr path (C:\Users\gilles.devillers.SECTRONIC\aerobox\zephyr)?

Hi,

It is not under Zephyr. As shown in the debug support information, my nRF app is at C:\Users\gilles.devillers.SECTRONIC\aerobox\. My ncs tools are in C:\ncs\. My separate Zephyr installation is in C:\Users\gilles.devillers.SECTRONIC\aerobox\zephyr.

Yet the extension won’t list the SDK when creating a build configuration, but will list them in the debug information…

Hi,

It is probably the case that you have workspace application. If the application is under Zephyr, then you will not be able to build it with some other SDKs. In this case the solution is to copy/move your application somewhere else. Please let me know if this suggestion helps in resolving the issue.

Thanks for your reply.

I followed [this exact guide](docs.zephyrproject.org/.../index.html) on Windows 11. But as I’ve seen somewhere in the docs, it seems that sometimes Zephyr defaults to C:\Users\<user>\zephyr for some commands.

I have tried building another project for which I still have some build configurations set, but the error is different, it seems to be using a directory from my other project that is not at all in the opened workspace (sorry, pasting here is because the editor is glitching when trying to add as code): https://pastebin.com/B5Bs4G94

How can I build NCS projects with the command line? Just using west build? Anyway I can’t create a build configuration anymore for my project as the SDK only show “Zephyr v4.1.99\*” and not the ncs anymore, do you know how I can do it then?
